This week hasn't gone quite as planned.
Between preparing my son for exams, navigating a few unexpected challenges, and managing decisions that seem to require more mental energy than I have available, I've found myself reminding myself that not everything deserves the same amount of my attention.
Not every situation requires an immediate response, every problem doesn't need to be solved today, and not everything deserves the same amount of attention.
What truly matters. |

I've spent enough of my life operating as though it does.
And while I can't always control what the week brings, I'm learning to be more deliberate about what I allow to occupy my mind.

As we head into Halloween weekend, I'm looking forward to something wonderfully ordinary.
Watching my thirteen-year-old get dressed up, spending the weekend with longtime family friends, and making new memories alongside relationships that stretch back to my husband’s youth.
I know there won't be many more years of trick-or-treating, especially with my husband and I tagging along, or watching my son just be a kid.
I don't want to miss this one because my mind is somewhere else.
Beneath all the costumes, candy, and commotion, there's a life unfolding that I don't want to rush past.
May you find joy in the moments that become stories retold.
